The role of talent in the critical space of defence, engineering and manufacturing space has always been critical for more than one reason. Conversely, multiple reasons – such as retirements of key personnel in recent times and the lack of mission-critical skills in the current talent pool makes filling gaping need gaps difficult. Despite increased emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) training, the workforce supply chain remains a work-in-progress for most governments, organizations and institutions around the world.

“No country is ever successful in the long term…. without a really strong and vibrant manufacturing base.”
